TRAVEL INFORMATION

GETTING BY TRAIN:

The nearest railway station to Dipartimento di Matematica, (via Carlo Alberto 10 - map)  is Porta Nuova - you can walk (approximately 10 minutes under the arcades as shown on the  map).
Porta Susa railway station is also close (15-20 minutes walk - or take tram number 13 up to piazza Castello).

GETTING BY PLANE:

If you arrive at Turin Caselle airport you can reach the city centre either by BUS or by TRAIN or by TAXI

  • By BUS:

Bus service between downtown Turin and Turin Airport has  Porta Nuova main railway station as final stop. You can also stop at Porta Susa railway station,

CITY TO AIRPORT:
Departure Location: Porta Nuova railway station, Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, 58 central roadway
Arrival Location: Porta Nuova railway station, Corso Vittorio Emanuele II at the corner with via Sacchi
Timetable:   every 30 minutes from 05:15 to 08:15
every 45 minutes from 08:15 to 16:30
every 30 minutes from 16:30 to 21:00
every 45 minutes from 21:00 to 22:30

Tickets: Bars nearby the bus terminal, and aboard (+ € 0,50 extra-charge)

AIRPORT TO CITY: Departure Location: Arrivals level, just in front of exit
Timetable:   every 30 minutes from 06:30 to 09:00
every 45 minutes from 09:00 to 17:15
every 30 minutes from 17:15 to 22:45
every 45 minutes from 22:45 to 23:30

Tickets: News-stand, ticket office, ticket machine, and aboard (+ € 0,50 extra-charge)

  • By TRAIN: 
A railway links the airport to Turin (GTT Dora Railway Station). From  GTT Dora Railway Station you can get a tram or a bus to the city centre.
  • Departures every 30 minutes to the airport from 05:13am to 07:43pm and to Turin from 06:49am to 09:19pm.
    The railway station is located few meters away from the air terminal: a comfortable pedestrian connection, only 150 covered meters away, links the station to the check-in counters on the Departures level.

  • By TAXI:
The taxi terminal is located at the Arrivals Level in front of the exit.
Taxis cost approximately € 26/42 to reach downtown Turin, and travel time is approximately 30 minutes.



If you arrive at Milan Malpensa Airport there is a shuttle bus-service to Milan Central Railway Station every 20 minutes, the Malpensa Express. It takes approximately 20 minutes. From Milan Central Railway Station trains run regularly to Turin railway station Porta Nuova (to consult the timetable, go to the Italian railway company Trenitalia website).
Otherwise, there is direct bus to Turin Bus Station (C.so Inghilterra, 1) which starts every day at 7.00, 9.00, 15.00. Fare € 16,50. Ticktes at the bus compay office or aboard Information : Bus line SADEM tel. +39.011.3000.611

    The Malpensa Express departs from Terminal 1 for Milan's Cadorna Rail Station every 30 minutes. It also stops at Milan Bovisa and Saronno stations. First train departs Malpensa at 06.45, the last train departs 21.45. Journey time is around 40 minutes.
  • Fare: € 9.00 one-way. Same day return is € 12.00, open return € 14.50.

    There are also rail links from Malpensa airport to Milan Central and Milan Garibaldi Stations via Gallarate. A local shuttle bus connects the airport with Gallarate Rail Station every hour.

  • Shuttle bus fare: From Terminal 1 € 1.30, Terminal 2 € 1.05.

    To Milan Central trains depart Gallarate from 05.54 until 23.24.

    To Milan Garibaldi trains depart Gallarate from 05.30 until 23.00.
